Alright, my Word program on my computer isn't working so I am going to use this to write my government paper on. So, unless you want to read it, steer clear of this journal. ^^ Thank you.

Also, some of this might not make sense. A lot of this is just me getting my thoughts down so I can go through it later.

My newly formed country is called Paultonia. It's capital is named Schiffsberg. Located on the coast, Paultonia's land is rather fertile making agriculture a major occupation. The land is divided into(need to think of how to describe that). The government of my country is a Republic. The government sponsors a free-market economy, as well as no government funded health care. There is a constitution for my country; this constitution is absolute and will not be trumped by any law.

A Republic is a form of government in which the head of the state is not a monarch. The people also have an impact on the government. The representatives of the people are elected by popular majority. I chose a Republic because I prefer how this representation works compared (finish thought). In my republic there would be judicial, executive, and legislative branches of government.

In Paultonia, there would be elected representatives. This would start at the county level, with the people of the county nominating and voting on a representative. This process would repeat at the district and state levels. When one reached the national level, the State governors would vote on the candidate for National Governor.

The economy of my country is a free-market economy. A free-market economy is basically a system where the buyers and sellers of goods are responsible for the choices they make. By doing this, you are giving the price of goods the control to determine how goods are distributed. The prices of goods are fixed by supply of that good and demand of that good. The governments only roll here would be to ensure that goods are given a "fair price." This way, organizations or corporations that are failing, will fail instead of being backed by the government. When you let these companies fail, you are making the market stronger by getting rid of the weaker links; if a company fails one time, it is bound to fail again. The government is only prolonging that failure when it gives these companies bailouts.

In my free market economy, there would be a gold standard. A gold standard would help prevent the government from issuing unbacked paper money. In this system, one dollar would be backed by one "dollar" of gold. By doing this, it would help prevent inflation because the government would not be able to print money when they run out of funds. (????? Help needed for that part.) Inflation is not only rising prices. Inflation might cause rising prices, but rising prices is just rising prices. Rising prices can be caused by many different things. Rising prices can be seen as mainly supply and demand. This definition of inflation is arbitrary. A better way to say inflation is that inflation happens when there is more currency in circulation than we can afford.

The health care system of Paultonia would not be run by the government. The government would have no hand in it.(??) People would pay for their own health care. When the government puts away money for something, like health care, a portion of that sum is lost in the "middle man." When the government helps fund health care, it raises the price of health care, preventing people from affording it. By having people pay for treatments directly, the price of health care will drop making it more affordable. The people who have insurance will be able to afford more of it as well.
